On the 27th of April, Reef Magic hosted a once-in-a-lifetime event for Aussie community heroes and to support the tropical north’s tourism industry.
Sheppard and Lee Kernaghan headlined ‘Savannah Sounds on the Reef’, together with Max Jackson and Kairos Kin, as 100 incredible community heroes from around the country watched from Reef Magic’s state-of-the-art reef pontoon. This event was a first for the Great Barrier Reef and was supported by the Australian and Queensland Governments as part of Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
The event spotlighted the up-and-coming country music festival ‘Savannah in the Round’, which is being held in the Cairns Hinterland at Mareeba from 11 to 13 October 2024.
A huge thank-you was extended to our team, particularly Chris Koscielny, Monika Baum, and Jason Moore, for their dedication in organising this remarkable event. The event highlighted the pontoon as one of the Great Barrier Reef’s premium experiences and demonstrated to our business and events community that we are capable of delivering events of this scale within our marine operations.
